We’ve created this interactive map so you can see how your state compares to the rest of the U.S. when it comes to hours spent binging Netflix and the amount of password sharing that goes on.
Methodology & Sources
Netflix Hours Watched (bingers): Netflix hours watched per person has been calculated using a combination of Google Trends search demand data (for terms such as ‘watch Netflix’, ‘Netflix login’, and various other high intent terms) and National Telecommunications and Information Administration survey data for ‘Watches Videos Online’ responses.
Netflix Password Sharing (swindlers): Netflix password sharing statistics have been obtained from a Time2Play study that surveyed 1,523 Americans from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. See our full write-up and study breakdown here, and the original archived study here.
